Gender at the Idaho Primary

Betsy Fischer Martin | Mar 12, 2020

Idaho Democrats voted in a presidential primary system this year after holding party caucuses in previous years. That decision resulted in a substantial increase in voter participation according to party officials.  In the end, the race was a close one between Joe Biden who captured 49% of the vote and Bernie Sanders with 43%.

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the composite of the electorate because exit polling was not conducted in the state .

In the Republican Primary, President Trump received 95% of the vote and former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld received 2% of the vote. There is no exit poll data available on the Republican side as well.
